How to Be a DJ at BLR [pdf version]

STEP ONE - Program content proposal

Select a time slot you wish to fill from looking at the openings in the most current schedule, which can be accessed online at:
http://www.berkeleyliberationradio.org

Decide on a basic nutshell description of what you plan to broadcast, a show name, & a dj name.

STEP TWO - The station is entirely collectively organized by our all volunteer djs

Go to a Thursday night meeting
1st & 3rd Thursdays are 7pm at the Long Haul (3124 Shattuck)
Other Thursdays are currently floating.
Check the minutes blog for announcements

At the meeting,
pitch your show,
meet some of the other djs,
read and approve the Berkeley Liberation Radio mission

Then you can make the decision to go ahead and join us
Pay your dues to the designated dj or put them in the studio painted cash box
Dues for weekly 2-hour slot = $20/month
or
$5 = 1/2-hour show

STEP THREE - Trained and ready to go!

Get the mandatory training from our veteran broadcaster. Someone'll tell you how to meet up with him if you ask!

Note:
DJs who participate in some way beyond just doing a show are key to keeping the whole project fresh and relevant.
Since we are a collective, you have to come to meetings to discuss getting a time slot.
There is no way to put dibs on it for you through email
